Building a Portfolio That Books

Your book has 60 seconds to convince a casting director.

**The four essential shots.** 1. Clean headshot — natural light, no makeup, hair pulled back. 2. Full-body — neutral background, fitted clothing, no accessories. 3. Editorial — one strong styled image showing range. 4. Movement — walking, jumping, or interacting with the environment.

**Curate ruthlessly.** A portfolio of 10 excellent images beats one of 30 good ones. If two shots feel similar, cut the weaker.

**Update quarterly.** The industry moves fast. Refresh your top 3 every three months.
